Ten Thousand Photos For One Tongue Out

Azmi's note My personal log from Meknes, not vet advice. Just what I did and saw tonight.

Model: Queen Tongue-Out, Edition March to Tonight. Owner: Azmi, Meknes. Thank you for purchasing ten thousand photos worth of patience. This manual covers setup, normal operation, and the one perfect moment when she finally stuck her tongue out with perfect timing. Please read all instructions before operating your camera at silly o’clock. Keep this manual near the couch, slightly under the blanket, where the queen cannot eat it.

Section 1: Unboxing and specifications

Your unit arrived in March as a small crowned creature with strong opinions and soft feet. Standard features include a queen-level stare, a sprint that starts without warning, and a habit of posing exactly one second after you lower the camera. Specifications are as follows. Weight: heavier than she looks when she sits on your foot on purpose. Sound: teeth purring during good head rubs, thumps when service is slow. Battery: unlimited, charged by hay and naps. Display: one tongue, rarely shown, worth every single one of the 9,999 photos before it. Tonight she finally did it, tongue out in full glory, and I nearly dropped the phone into the hay. Worth the wait does not begin to cover it.

Section 2: Setup at silly o’clock

Place camera within arm’s reach at all times, including breakfast, including midnight water trips. I kept mine on the couch arm for months here in Meknes, lens wiped, storage emptied, thumb trained. Tongue-outs cannot be staged, only waited for, so your setup must favor waiting. Good light helps, but do not chase her with lamps. Let her choose the sunny corner and build your station around her instead. My best station was a floor cushion, a glass of tea I never finished, and the phone propped against a book. The queen did the rest on her own schedule, which is the only schedule this device recognizes. I am just the technician who holds the blanket.

Section 3: Normal operation and the patience log

Normal operation looks like this. You take four hundred photos of a loaf. You take three hundred photos of an ear. You take two hundred photos of a blur that zoomed past the lens at dinner time. You keep all of them because deleting feels rude. My photo patience log from these months reads simply: camera ready at silly o’clock, always; tongue-outs cannot be staged, only waited for; best shot printed, rest stay in the folder. Outrageously cute is the factory setting. The folder grows and the queen poses, usually facing away at the exact moment of peak light. This is not a defect. This is royalty. Nose prints on the lens are considered a signature, not damage.

Section 4: Troubleshooting common issues

Issue: every photo is the back of her head. Solution: sit on the floor and wait. She inspects new sitters within ten minutes. Issue: tongue appears but photo is blurry. Solution: accept the blur, take three more, and laugh quietly so she stays. Issue: she notices the camera sound and charges a fee. This is expected behavior. My queen now recognizes the shutter sound and looks directly at me until tribute arrives, usually a head rub first and a small piece of her usual food second. I keep food questions for my vet and change nothing without asking there first. Issue: storage full at the critical moment. Solution: this manual judges you silently. Clear space nightly. The tongue waits for no one.

Section 5: Care, storage, and comparison habits

Store best shots printed where morning light hits them. Store the rest in dated folders, because one day you will want to see how the face changed. I learned this habit from comparing the same bunny nine years apart, which taught me that small monthly differences become a whole life when you line them up. I also track slow changes the way I described in my month-by-month mane growth photos, one honest picture at a time. Photo eleven thousand is already loading. She knows the camera sound now and charges extra, and I pay gladly in patience. If your unit shows the tongue tonight, print it, frame it, and call it Edition One. Then keep waiting, because Edition Two is already warming up on the rug.

Section 6: Warranty and owner story

This unit carries no written warranty, only the kind built from months of sitting nearby. My warranty began in March here in Meknes, when I learned her favorite corners and the exact pitch of her happy teeth. It was renewed each time I chose waiting over chasing, floor over couch, quiet over calling her name across the room. Ten thousand photos sounds like a large number until you divide it by the days, and then it looks like what it is: a few minutes of attention, repeated daily, until attention became trust. The tongue-out photo is only the visible seal on that paperwork. Behind it stand thousands of blurry frames where nothing special happened except that she stayed near me, which was always the special thing.

Appendix: What I tell new photographers

Friends ask for one tip, and I give them three because manuals are allowed to be generous. First, learn her clock before you press anything; most queens repeat their day within the same hours, and your best light is the one she already naps in. Second, photograph the ordinary weeks on purpose, the plain loaves and half-closed eyes, because those frames make the rare ones glow. Third, end every session with a head rub and no camera, so the last sound she hears is not a click. Outrageously cute will keep happening whether you catch it or not. The folder grows either way. My copy of this manual now has a printed tongue-out on page one and hay dust on every other page, and I would not trade a single blurry frame inside it.
