Cookie Policy

The short version: before you choose, this site writes one cookie — the one that remembers your choice. Everything else waits until you accept it.

The consent banner

SoilTune uses CookieYes as its consent banner and consent manager. When the banner first appears it writes a single cookie, cookieyes-consent, on soiltune.com. It holds no advertising identifier and no profile — it records which categories you accepted or rejected, and for how long (consent is remembered for up to a year). Without it the banner could not remember your answer and would ask you on every page.

Its full markup is published with everything else this site loads at soiltune.com/scripts.txt, and it is the first script in that file, ahead of every other third-party script, because it has to be in place before anything can be blocked.

Before you choose

Until you accept a category, no script in that category runs: no request is made to Google Tag Manager, to Google AdSense, or to our Matomo server. The banner itself and this site's own pages are the only things loaded. Rejecting everything leaves the site exactly as usable as accepting — every calculator runs entirely in your browser and depends on none of them.

After you choose

Accepting allows these, in their respective categories:

• Performance — Google Tag Manager (container GTM-T9HTD53X). A loader: it sets no cookie by itself and injects whichever tags the container has been configured to run. Those tags declare their own categories in the banner's cookie list.
• Analytics — Matomo, self-hosted by us at analytics.soiltune.com (site ID 1). Records page views, referrers, device type and country so we know which calculators get used, and writes first-party cookies (_pk_id, _pk_ses and their session timer) on *.soiltune.com to tell one visit from the next. It never sees a calculator input, because those never leave your device.
• Advertisement — Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-4144261797965451). Loads advertising scripts from pagead2.googlesyndication.com, which may set cookies to serve, attribute and cap ads. Google and its partners document these in Google's privacy policy, and you can change ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings.

The banner's own second layer lists every cookie in use on this domain and which category it belongs to, straight from the last scan of the site — that list, not this page, is the authoritative inventory.

First-party storage that is not a cookie

A few calculators remember your most recent inputs or preferred units in your browser's local storage, so a tool reopens with your last session instead of blank defaults. It never leaves your device, is not sent to us, and clearing it changes nothing else. Details are in the privacy policy.

Changing your mind

You can reopen the banner at any time with this control — it works from any page, and your previous choice is already loaded into it:

You can also delete the cookieyes-consent cookie through your browser's site-data settings, which makes the banner appear again on your next visit. Blocking the googletagmanager.com, googlesyndication.com and analytics.soiltune.com hosts — or using an ad-blocker — silences those scripts permanently regardless of what you press in the banner.
