How Do Mine Play? Stacking Cups And Snuffle Mats
same angle, same light my log photo
Azmi's note My personal log from Meknes, not vet advice. Just what I did and saw tonight.

Ex cat-and-dog person here, learning rabbit play from zero. Current toy box: stacking cups for knocking, snuffle mat for foraging, chews everywhere. Agitating them like a cat does NOT work, lesson learned. This post reviews the toy box item by item: ratings, usage data, and the bunny-terms philosophy. Personal play log, not toy advice; supervised play only, damaged toys retired instantly. They play on bunny terms: throw, forage, chew, flop. My job is providing props and applauding. Also that leg photo stays in the diary forever.

Play corner inventory: reviewed

  • Stacking cups: knocked daily, restacked nightly, rating 5/5; the crash is the point; restacking is my evening ritual (related: my tunnel project runs the same knock-and-reset economy)
  • Snuffle mat with hidden herbs, big hit, rating 5/5; forage time 10+ minutes; herb refills from the hay station’s flower heads
  • Cardboard + willow chews, rotated weekly, rating 4/5; cardboard castle renovated monthly, willow restocked when gnawed through

Bunny terms: the philosophy

Agitating them like a cat does NOT work, lesson learned week one (wiggled toy met with utter contempt, logged). Rabbit play verbs: throw (cups, balls, anything light), forage (mats, scattered herbs, hidden treats), chew (willow, cardboard, my sleeve seams per the spa log), flop (the finale, always). My role: props placed, applause supplied, interference zero. Play questions get joke answers about the photo and real answers about the cups. Both are correct. L-E-G, indeed, the leg photo (mid-binky sprawl, my leg for scale, accidental masterpiece) stays in the diary forever as a reminder that the best play photos are unplanned. Throw, forage, chew, flop: the whole curriculum on one line.

Toy test lab: new arrivals

New arrivals tested this month: seagrass ball (rating 4/5, chewed enthusiastically, lifespan 9 days), apple sticks bundle (5/5, universal, restocked twice), crinkle tunnel (3/5, fun initially, ignored since; under review), treat puzzle feeder (2/5, solved in 4 minutes, now a food bowl with extra steps). Retirement home: the ignored tunnel (donated to the foster room), the too-small ball (shelved), the bell toy (hated unanimously, bells are for other species). Procurement policy: one new toy monthly maximum (overstock confuses; rotation delights), willow always in stock (the staple), cardboard free and infinite (castle district expands). Test method: introduce at 18:00, observe 3 evenings, rate honestly, log verbatim reactions. Current champion: stacking cups, undefeated 6 months (knocked daily, restacked nightly, the people’s toy).

Play sessions: a week observed

Monday: cup demolition derby (4 minutes, applauded). Tuesday: snuffle-mat deep forage (12 minutes, herbs located all). Wednesday: chew symposium (willow versus cardboard, willow won on durability, cardboard on drama). Thursday: rest day (flops only, athletes rest). Friday: tunnel Grand Prix (3 laps, photo finish). Saturday: free play (unsupervised creativity, cardboard confetti found Sunday, artist unknown). Sunday: flop finale (all toys abandoned for naps, correct priorities). Weekly totals: 5 active days, 2 rest, countless flops. Play on bunny terms, logged on mine. Props provided, applause supplied, leg photo eternal. L-E-G indeed, knocked over mid-binky, captured forever.

Play philosophy, graduate level: toys are invitations, not instructions, placed, never demonstrated (demonstrations insult the experts). Rotation beats accumulation (5 toys active, rest stored, restocked excitement monthly). Destruction is usage (chewed toys are loved toys; pristine toys are failed toys). Applause is mandatory (every binky cheered, every forage applauded, every flop admired). The leg photo’s moral: be present with a camera, always (masterpieces strike mid-binky). Ex-cat-and-dog-person status: converted fully, zero relapses, bunny terms accepted permanently. Props and applause, the whole job, the best job.

Toy box state of the union: cups reigning (6 months undefeated), mat thriving (herbs flowing), chews rotating (willow favored), tunnel grand-prixing Fridays. Retirements honored; arrivals trialed; ratings honest. Play questions answered both ways (joke and real, both correct). The leg photo ages like fine wine, mid-binky sprawl, eternal. Throw, forage, chew, flop: curriculum complete, students napping. Props restocked; applause rested; play on.

Playground forecast: tunnel expansion funded (second tunnel, traffic solution), snuffle herbs diversified (mint trial pending), cup tower championship announced (tallest stack before demolition, current record 4). Season ahead: summer flop-heavy scheduling (play mornings, naps afternoons), autumn toy refresh (one arrival monthly, budget held). The curriculum evolves; the verbs endure. Throw, forage, chew, flop, graduation never, play forever.

Play log signed nightly: props placed, applause delivered, flops admired. The curriculum holds; the students nap; the leg photo endures. Throw, forage, chew, flop, graduation never sought, joy always found. Recess eternal.

Toy box audit complete: champions crowned, retirees honored, arrivals trialed. Cups undefeated; mat beloved; chews rotating; tunnel racing. Play rated excellent; flops rated perfect; leg photo rated eternal. Props forever; applause always.

Recess continues daily at 18:00 sharp. Props ready; applause ready; flops expected.

Curriculum holding; students napping; photo eternal.

Props placed nightly; applause supplied gladly.

L-E-G, forever.

Curriculum complete; recess eternal; leg photo forever.

Props forever; applause always; flops nightly without fail. Recess eternal.
