Azmi's note My personal log from Meknes, not vet advice. Just what I did and saw tonight.

Hi, I’m Azmi from Meknes! I gave my rabbit one room corner instead of the whole room. It has a washable rug, a hide, a hay spot, and covered cords. This is my personal log, not housing advice. Every room differs. For chewing, wiring, or flooring worries I ask a knowledgeable person or vet. Here I share my corner map, my two moves, and cleaning minutes.

Corner map: rug, hide, hay, cords

The corner is 100 by 100 cm in the bedroom quiet side. Washable rug 80 by 100 dark cotton covers the center. Hide is a 40 cm cardboard house with two doors, entrance first facing the wall, then turned toward the room. Hay spot is a wall rack 15 cm above a low tray on the left, plus a small floor pile by the hide. Cords along the right wall run inside a 2-meter plastic trunking clipped every 40 cm, I tug-test it weekly. Week one taught me two moves: shift the hay 15 cm away from the wall to cut sweeping, and turn the hide entrance toward the room so he comes out more. I log those moves with before and after photos. Move one changed sweep pile from a handful to a pinch daily. Move two changed emerge time from 10 minutes hiding to 3 minutes in my evening notes.

How I log it

Corner checks never vary, door-frame photo 19:00, tidy minutes plus one word. Photo is door frame 19:00, same height. Line is tidy minutes plus one word: calm, play, hide. Example: 4 min calm. The log shape is shareable, the content isn’t, rabbits differ; week table and photos below.

What my month showed

Cleaning is two minutes morning and evening plus 20 Sunday. Morning is hay pinch sweep plus mat flat check. Evening is tray edge wipe water-only plus rug shake at the door. Sunday is rug wash 30 degrees no softener, sun-dry, tray full refresh, hide check for chew soft spots. After four Sundays my photo strip shows rug flat, hide corners slightly rounded from chewing but holding shape, wall scuff zero thanks to the tray panel. I keep the floor clear and the light soft, curtains half, lamp warm 2700K evenings. Bright overhead off after 19:00. That light note correlates in my sheet with faster corner return after play: 5 minutes dim versus 12 bright.

This corner is now his base, and he returns there after play. Return time averages 8 minutes post-zoomies in week four versus 20 in week one before the hide turn. I do not claim the hide direction caused it, I only note the order: turn Wed, faster returns Thu onward. If you start, pick one corner, photograph it weekly, and change one thing at a time. My album proves small moves matter. Seven days drew the corner’s pattern. Mornings and evenings cost minutes once the layout froze. Everything washable, photo before wiping, fair comparisons. Starting a corner log? Tiny entries: date, photo, one line. Sixty days made an album of pencil-mark shifts. Small, washable, fixed, the diary’s whole philosophy in three words.

Room-corner photos taken by me at 19:00 from the door frame. Not vet advice. Housing notes only, adapt to your room and supervise chewing.

Light, noise and return-to-base timing

Light and noise shaped this corner more than furniture. Bright overhead after 19:00 delayed return-to-base from 8 to 18 minutes in week two, so I switched to warm side lamp only and returns fell back to 6 minutes. Street noise had the same effect: on two wedding nights returns took 25 minutes with long hiding, both marked N in the sheet. Hide stock matters too: when the cardboard floor thinned in week five I slid a flat spare card underneath without changing walls or entrance, returns stayed fast, proving floor feel mattered. Cord check is weekly Sunday: tug trunking, look for tooth marks, photo the clips. Zero marks in two months, and that zero line in the sheet is the value, no news is good news and it is written down. Link to bed log: corner base 19:00 calm predicts bed flop 16:00 next day in 8 of 12 cases in my notes, a fun order I only saw by keeping identical dates.

Final note from my sheet: small, washable, and fixed beats big and flexible. One corner, one photo angle, one line a day. After sixty days my album shows hide, rug, and rack in the same places with only pencil-mark shifts, that stability is the whole result. Next I will link this corner map with my litter tray log so you can see base plus toilet as one unit.

Corner steady; pencil marks holding.

Mapped.
