Found A Fluffy Snacker On My Couch Again

Azmi's note My personal log from Meknes, not vet advice. Just what I did and saw tonight.

Came in to find an ewok eating a snack on my couch. Extremely fluffy, extremely guilty, extremely unbothered. Case opened: The People vs. Fluffy, couch jurisdiction. This post is the hearing transcript, incident, evidence, defense, verdict. Personal household comedy, not advice. The couch is technically mine. Practically? Shared. Proceedings below.

Incident report: Tuesday, 17:40

Found: one extremely fluffy bunny on the left cushion, mid-snack (hay transported from the rack, trail of evidence across the rug). Demeanor: guilty and unbothered simultaneously, a legal paradox. Prior record: three previous couch appearances this month, all photographed, none prosecuted. Seized: one photo (exhibit A), then the blanket was deployed under the defendant per standing procedure. Blanket down before bunny up, the rule held even mid-incident; procedure is procedure.

My couch rules (entered into evidence)

  • Blanket down before bunny up, throw over the left cushion, no exceptions, even for surprise visits
  • Snacks in a bowl, not on cushions, small saucer placed alongside, hay stays off fabric
  • Photo first, relocate later, documentation precedes enforcement, always

Defense statement (interpreted from a nose press): the couch is warm, the human is nearby, the blanket was already there (it wasn’t, placed post-discovery, but the court allows the fiction). Character witnesses: the evening cuddle shift, nightly 20:00, one hour, fully attended. Fluffy coats shed everywhere. Worth it for the evening cuddle shift, the court’s own finding, entered with feeling.

Verdict: shared custody

Verdict after a week: the couch is shared custody. Terms: left cushion defendant’s during evening shift, blanket mandatory, bowl rule holds, blanket rule holds, fluff everywhere regardless. Visitation: human retains mornings (bunny sleeps in, uncontested). Rent: he pays rent in cuddles and I have stopped pretending otherwise, nightly payment, generous amounts, arrears never. Court costs: one lint roller per month, borne jointly. Case closed, precedent set: future ewoks will be photographed first and relocated never. The gavel is a parsley sprig. Adjourned.

Appeals and precedent

Prior cases cited: Bed Takeover (shared bed, pillow precedent), Room Corner (base rights established), Couch Time Rules (cover-and-timer doctrine). This ruling aligns: shared custody with mandatory blanket, bowl discipline, photographic record. The defense cited the cuddle-shift attendance (perfect, nightly) and the rent payments (generous, in cuddles). Prosecution cited fluff volume (extensive, everywhere) and the hay trail (documented across the rug). The court weighed both and found for sharing, fluff is the tax on joy, joyfully paid. Distinguishing from Bed Takeover: the couch involves daytime snacking (bowl rule added), the bed involves nights (pillow rule stands). Consistent jurisprudence across soft furnishings.

Enforcement and rent collection

Rent collection nightly at 20:00: cuddle shift opens, blanket deployed, bowl filled, photo archived. Arrears: none recorded in six weeks of proceedings. Enforcements to date: zero relocations (all appearances voluntary), one blanket adjustment (mid-snack, accepted), countless photos (admitted as exhibits A through Z). The lint roller budget holds at one monthly, shared expense. Custody calendar posted on the fridge: defendant’s evenings, human’s mornings, joint weekends. Both parties signed with nose press and initials respectively. Compliance perfect, fluff constant, love evident. The People rest; the ewok snacks on. Court permanently adjourned in favor of cuddles.

Postscript from the bailiff: the defendant’s snack bowl found washed and refilled this morning, voluntary compliance beyond the verdict’s terms. Fluff levels steady, cuddle payments current, blanket freshly laundered for tonight’s shift. The couch hosts both parties nightly without incident; the camera roll grows by one exhibit per evening. Shared custody succeeds where sole ownership merely tidies. Case law complete: blanket, bowl, photo, cuddles, in that order, forever. The ewok snacks on, unbothered and beloved.

Clerk’s final note: exhibits archived by date, fluff brushed from the record, gavel parsley composted per green policy. The shared-custody order renews automatically each evening the blanket goes down, which is every evening. No appeals filed, none expected; the defendant naps through legal proceedings as is her right. The People vs. Fluffy closes as the happiest case on the docket. Next session: tonight, 20:00, left cushion. All rise (quietly, she’s snacking).

Footnote on fluff management: lint roller stationed by the couch arm, blanket shaken nightly on the balcony, cushions vacuumed Sundays. Fluff output steady regardless, long coat, high yield. Visitors warned in advance (lint offered, affection assured). The ewok sheds; the court provides rollers. Justice is fluffy.

Exhibit Z, filed tonight: same cushion, same snacker, same unbothered glory. The blanket went down first (procedure), the photo came second (evidence), the cuddle shift ran its hour (justice). Shared custody, sixth week running, zero disputes. The couch holds all; the log holds the proof.

Custody shared, cuddles current, fluff everywhere. The verdict stands nightly and the rent arrives in purrs. Case closed for good, until tomorrow’s snack, same cushion, same ewok, same unbothered joy. Court adjourned, blanket folded.

Snack secured, cushion claimed, justice served fluffy.

Shared.

Fluffy, guilty, unbothered, beloved, four adjectives, one ewok, endless evenings.

Couch shared happily.
